Benfleet Primary Care Network

Primary Care Networks (PCN) offer a new way of organising care, bringing together all local health and care services in a local area to deliver more joined up care to local populations.

Both Dr Khan & Partners and St. George's Medical Practice are member practices of Benfleet PCN, along with the 5 other practices in Benfleet, serving a total population of around 48,000 people. 

The PCN provides access to a range of services, extended hours GP appointments and home visits to local pharmacy led services, mental health liaison, adult social care, comprehensive geriatric assessments and voluntary organisation input. 

Our team is made up of over 30 healthcare professionals such as First Contact Pratitioners, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Emergency Care Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers and Mental Health Nurses alongside our administrative and management team. 

You may receive a call or have an appointment booked with one our PCN team who are here to support you as part of your normal GP service.

blood test

Phlebotomy (Blood Tests)

We offer onsite blood tests for patients referred for monitoring of certain “high risk” medicines such as methotrexate, and for NHS Health checks.

All other blood tests should be arranged at any local blood testing service.

Local phlebotomy and blood testing is performed by a partnership of Mid & South Essex NHS Trust and Pathology First.

GP Healthcare Alliance

Dr Khan & Partners and St Georges Medical Practice are members of GP Healthcare Alliance Ltd.

GP Healthcare Alliance is a group of 18 practices in Castle Point, Rochford and Rayleigh, Essex, working together to provide healthcare for all practices and patients. All practice members remain independent contractors but work collaboratively to improve healthcare services within our area.

We provide a range of primary care and community services to our local residents, various ‘at scale services’ for practices as well as professional staff training. We meet nationwide challenges with local knowledge and expertise, tailoring our services to reflect the needs of the communities in which we work.

Essex Wellbeing Service

Our Stop Smoking services are available, and free, to everyone living or working in Essex, excluding Southend and Thurrock. All you need to do is fill out our online assessment.

We can support you in finding the right treatment, advice, and support in various locations across the County including GP surgeries, pharmacies, and specialist clinics.

midwife

Midwife

The midwife can offer a domino delivery at Southend Hospital to certain mothers and provides postnatal advice and care in the home.

She can be contacted through the midwife's clerk on 01702 221200.

Counsellor

We have a GP referral Counselling service.

Community Nurses

These nurses are attached to the practice from the Health Authority and, on recommendation from a doctor, provide nursing care in the home.

Health Visitors

The health visitors work in conjunction with the doctor and are based in the community clinics.
