Clinics We Offer
The following services are available at both Practices
Cervical Smears
These will be undertaken by your doctor and the practice nurse. A cervical smear programme is in operation and patients are recalled when their test is due. You will be notified routinely of the result of your test by post from the hospital.
Immunisation Clinics
A baby, child and adult immunisation/holiday vaccination clinic are held at the surgery.
Please report to reception when you arrive.
Tetanus/Diphtheria
We advise up-to-date tetanus/diptheria. Please enquire at reception to ensure adequate cover.
Influenza
We offer flu vaccinations every October. We particularly recommend vaccinations for those at risk including patients with lung disease, asthma or bronchitis, heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, all patients aged 65 years or over and those with lowered resistance to infection. It is also recommended for residents of nursing homes, elderly people's homes or other long-stay facilities.
Please enquire at reception in early October for further details.
Child Health Surveillance
Routine child health surveillance checks are carried out at six weeks by the doctor (ie. at the same time as the mother's postnatal examination) and 21/2 years by the health visitor either at the clinic or at the patient's home.
Family Planning Services
A full range of family planning services is offered by arrangement with your doctor or nurse.
Minor Surgery
Certain minor operations (eg removal of moles and skin lumps, injection of joints and treatment to warts with liquid nitrogen) are performed at the surgery, or may be referred to a local GP surgeon.

People today are very aware of the need to prevent health problems from occurring. Healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle are important and we offer preventative advice aimed at maintaining health. Please ask at reception for further details.
